To resolve that under Section 100A (4) of the Local Government Act 1972 the public be excluded from the meeting for the following item of business on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraph 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Act, and that this satisfies the public interest test.

Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976 - Application for a New Hackney Carriage / Private Hire Dual Driver's Licence

To consider the report of the Director of Service Delivery (copy enclosed).

 

Minutes:

The Chairperson outlined the procedure that would be followed at the meeting and then asked all those present to introduce themselves. 

 

The Licensing Officer outlined the application for the review of a Hackney Carriage / Private Hire Vehicle Dual Driver’s License, highlighting points of consideration for the Committee. 

 

The Chairperson then invited the applicant to make an opening statement. The applicant advised he did not wish to make an opening statement but was in attendance to answer any questions that the Committee may have. He confirmed that he did not wish to call any witnesses.

 

The Lead Legal Specialist and Monitoring Officer asked the Applicant to explain the matters highlighted within the report. In response to a number of questions from Members, the Applicant provided detailed explanation.

 

On confirmation that there were no further questions, the Chairperson thanked everyone present for their contributions and advised that the meeting would now close. The Committee would then consider the evidence before reaching its decision. All parties would be notified of the decision within five working days.

 

All parties were reminded that the applicant could appeal any decision of the Council to the Magistrates’ Court.
