The Chairman welcomed everyone to the meeting and went through some general housekeeping arrangements for the meeting.

To disclose the existence and nature of any Disclosable Pecuniary Interests, Other Registrable interests and Non-Registrable Interests relating to items of business on the agenda having regard to paragraph 9 and Appendix B of the Code of Conduct for Members.

Exclusion of the Public and Press

To resolve that under Section 100A (4) of the Local Government Act 1972 the public be excluded from the meeting for the following item(s) of business on the grounds that they involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraph 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Act, and that this satisfies the public interest test.

Application for the Renewal of Hackney Carriage / Private Hire Dual Driver's Licence

To consider the report of the Director of Service Delivery (copy enclosed).

Minutes:

The Chairman outlined the procedure that would be followed at the meeting and then asked all those present, including the Applicant to introduce themselves.

 

The Lead Licensing Officer outlined the application for review of a Hackney Carriage / Private Hire Dual Driver’s Licence, highlighting the points of consideration for the Committee.  He reminded the Committee of the applicant’s right of appeal to the Magistrate’s Court.

 

The Chairman then invited the applicant to make an opening statement.  The applicant introduced himself and provided the Committee with some further information in response to questions raised by Members.

 

The Lead Legal Specialist also provided the Committee with some guidance and the Lead Licensing Officer confirmed that there were no further complaints in relation to the applicant.

 

On confirmation that there were no further questions, the Chairman thanked everyone present for their contributions and advised that the meeting would now close.  The Committee would then consider the evidence made before reaching its decision.  All parties would be notified of the decision within five working days of the this hearing.

Post Committee Decision

Minutes:

The Sub-Committee considered carefully all the information in the report from the Licensing Officer along with additional information provided at the meeting.

 

RESOLVED that the Licence be granted until 24 June 2023.
